Trombone

The Trombone is a member of our lower brass section and together with the lower woodwinds, Euphoniums, Baritones and Tubas it provides us with a bass line, which is extremely important to the performance of our music.

The Trombone can be really fun to play and is sometimes featured in a Band Piece. Have a listen to Slide Show to see what Band pieces we can play when we have sufficient good Trombone players.
our music.

The notes on the Trombone are produced by moving the Slide up and down into various positions, rather than pushing buttons like the Trumpet or Euphonium.

Of all the lower brass instruments that we so desperately need in our Bands, the Trombone is the most economical choice.  Brand new Trombones are around about AU$1000.00 and there are often second hand ones available for even less than half this price.  Just look our for dents which would prevent the slide from moving in and out.
